Why a subscription?
A subscription-based model is employed for several reasons:
-
- Operational Expense with Tax Advantages: It allows the customer to treat the subscription as an operating expense, offering potential tax advantages, and eliminates the need to cover substantial capital expenses upfront.
- Resource Limitations: Most light industries typically lack the in-house resources required to maintain such technology. Employing specialized personnel for these systems is cost-prohibitive and inefficient. BJM takes on the responsibility of system maintenance and reliability.
- Incentive for Robust Solutions: BJM's vested interest lies in building robust systems, as excessive maintenance costs would erode collected fees. A robust system is essential for sustainability.
Subscription Procedure
- Identify a project or idea.
- Create a project tracking sheet to document the project's progress. The initial phase on the tracking sheet involves obtaining approval and constructing a prototype.
- Develop and deploy a prototype to demonstrate the functionality and value of the fully implemented solution.
- If the customer agrees to move forward with the project, BJM Controls will carry out a comprehensive implementation and commissioning process, which may include:
- Installing required sensors, processors, and infrastructure equipment.
-Programming onsite processors to collect and transmit sensor data to the cloud.
-Implementing basic control functions like alarms, annunciators, and trips.
-Developing operator screens, interfaces, and dashboards.
-Creating an API for retrieving cloud data if necessary.
-Providing initial training and documentation for the system.
- BJM Controls will conduct a thorough review of the fully implemented system with the customer to ensure that all aspects of the project scope have been addressed.
- Upon meeting their satisfaction, the customer will formally accept the system as "turned over."
- Subscription billing will commence, covering ongoing maintenance and support services.
